To all those foodies and cooks out there, we know you love your grocery shopping! The good news is that almost all of the supermarkets in State College are not too far away from your new apartment. Most of them are on CATAbus routes so it's definitely easier to commute. Use the trusty Google Maps for more information about the location and how to get there.

 

Some of the supermarket chains in State Collge are Weis, Giant, Wegmans, Trader Joes, Walmart Supercenter and Sam's Club. You can find some smaller markets closer to the campus as well. These are Target, Mclanahan's Penn State Room, and Mclanahan's Downtown Market. For Indian or Asian groceries, you can visit Krishnan Indian Grocery Store on College Avenue or the State College International Market on Allen Street. You can also place an order on Patel Brothers Online or Amazon.com and skip the line!

 

State College area has a nice variety of restaurants and bars. Use Google or download Yelp, FourSquare/ Swarm apps on your phone for user reviews. You can have your food delivered by ordering it on apps like GrubHub, OrderUp or UBEReats if you are in the mood for some local options. You will find most chain restaurants such as Dominos, Pizza Hut, and Papa Johns deliver food to your door for a small delivery fee.

 

And yes... Don't forget to tip your waiter or your delivery guy!
